muchacha K handmade was founded in 2004 by designer Katy Brown.  She is a self-taught  and designer and seamstress, with a background in the performing arts and a keen eye for unusual and bold color pairings.  Sewing and design skills were traditions shared by generations of her family.  Her grandmother in particular passed down a gift for sewing, and very high standards.  Generations of her family were French-Canadian immigrants who worked in New England's mills as production stitchers...to pursue sewing as art is a gift and a result of their hard work.

All muchacha K goods are made in a studio not a factory, on vintage sewing machines.  We do not use animal materials in our products...if it's good for the animals, it's good for the environment and that's good for us.  muchacha K products are are characterized by meticulous detail and workmanship, and beautifully finished.

We specialize in fun accessories made from visually stunning fabrics.  Our primary lines are perfect for weddings and special occasions.  muchacha K handmade's studio is based in Concord, NH, but our customers live all over the world in the UK, Australia, Spain, Greece, Sweden, Germany, Canada, Ireland, and throughout the United States.  Our products have been featured in boutiques and galleries in NYC, Louisiana, Utah, New Hampshire and in Boston, MA.
